“And if a man smite his servant or his maid with a rod, and he die under his hand, he shall be surely punished.
And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall surely be punished.
“If a man strikes his male or his female servant with a staff and the servant dies at his hand, he must be punished.
And if a man strikes his servant or his maid with a rod and he [or she] dies under his hand, he shall surely be punished.
¶ And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.
“When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod, and the slave dies under his abuse, the owner must be punished.
When a slave owner hits a male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies immediately, the owner should be punished.
(ii) “If a person beats his male or female slave with a stick so severely that he dies, he is to be punished;
Death is the punishment for beating to death any of your slaves.
And if a man strike his bondman or his handmaid with a staff, and he die under his hand, he shall certainly be avenged.
He that striketh his bondman or bondwoman with a rod, and they die under his hands, shall be guilty of the crime.
“Sometimes people beat their slaves. If the slave dies after being beaten, the killer must be punished.
Perhaps a master may hit his male slave or his female slave with a stick. If the slave dies because of this, you must punish the master.
If a man strikes his male or his female servant with a club, and the servant dies at his hand, he must certainly be punished.
“When a man strikes his slave, male or female, with a rod and the slave dies under his hand, he shall be avenged.
“When a man strikes his slave, male or female, with a rod and the slave dies under his hand, he shall be avenged.
“If a man ·beats [strikes] his male or female slave with a ·stick [rod], and the slave dies on the spot, the owner must be punished.
¶ And if a man smite his servant, or his maid with a rod, and he die under his hand, he shall be surely punished.
“Whenever an owner hits his male or female slave with a stick so that the slave dies from the beating, the owner must be punished.
“If a slave owner takes a stick and beats his slave, whether male or female, and the slave dies on the spot, the owner is to be punished.
“When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod, and the slave dies under his abuse, the owner must be punished.
“A man might beat his male or female slave with a stick. And the slave might die on the spot. Then the owner must be punished.
“If a man strikes his male or female servant with a stick and he or she dies as a direct result, the master must be punished.
And if a man smites his slave or his maid with a rod and he dies under his hand, he shall be surely punished.
And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.
And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.
“And if a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod and he dies at his hand, he shall surely be punished.
And if a man strikes his male slave or his female slave with the rod and he dies under his hand, he will surely be avenged.
“If a man beats his slave to death—whether the slave is male or female—that man shall surely be punished.
“If a slave owner hits a slave, male or female, with a stick and the slave dies on the spot, the slave must be avenged. But if the slave survives a day or two, he’s not to be avenged—the slave is the owner’s property.
If a man strikes his male servant or his female servant with a rod so that he or she dies at his hand, then he shall surely be punished.
“Whenever an owner hits his male or female slave with a stick so that the slave dies from the beating, the owner must be punished.
When someone strikes his male or female slave with a rod so that the slave dies under his hand, the act shall certainly be avenged.
“And if someone strikes his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies at his hand, he shall be punished.
“If a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod and he dies at his hand, he shall be punished.
“When a man strikes his male or female slave with a staff and kills that slave, he shall surely be punished.
“If a man beats his male or female slave with a stick, and the slave dies on the spot, the owner must be punished.
“If a man strikes his male servant or his female servant with a staff so that he or she dies as a result of the blow, he will surely be punished.
“Suppose a person beats their male or female slave to death with a club. That person must be punished.
“Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result,
‘Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result,
“And if a man beats his male or female servant with a rod, so that he dies under his hand, he shall surely be punished.
“When a man hits his male or female servant with a stick so that he or she dies, he will be punished.
“If a man beats his male or female slave with a club and the slave dies as a result, the owner must be punished.
When a slave-owner strikes a male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies immediately, the owner shall be punished.
When a slave-owner strikes a male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies immediately, the owner shall be punished.
When a slaveowner strikes a male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies immediately, the owner shall be punished.
“When a slaveowner strikes a male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies immediately, the owner shall be punished.
And if an ish strikes his eved, or his amah, with a shevet (rod), and he die under his yad; he shall be surely avenged.
“When a man strikes his slave, male or female, with a rod and the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished.
“When a man strikes his slave, male or female, with a rod and the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished.
“If a man strikes his male or female servant with a staff, who dies by his hand, he must surely be punished.
If a person hits his male or female slave with a rod, and the slave dies because of the blow, then that person must be punished.
“If a man strikes his servant or his maid with a rod, and he dies under his hand, the man shall surely be punished.
He that smiteth his servant, or handmaid, with a rod, and they be dead in his hands, he shall be guilty of the crime, or hideous trespass. (He who striketh his slave, or his slave-girl, with a rod, and they die by his hands, he shall be guilty of a crime, or of a hideous trespass.)
